Armenia Streamlines Visa Regulations to Attract Tourists from the UAE
Armenia has recently implemented simplified visa regulations to make travel more accessible for tourists from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The mountainous country now offers visa-free travel for up to 180 days within a year for UAE passport holders. Additionally, visa regulations have been streamlined for those with UAE residency visas.
Sisian Boghossian MBA, head of the Tourism Committee of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, stated that citizens from over 50 countries, including Egypt, India, Iraq, Morocco, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia, can obtain a visa at the Armenian border (on-arrival or by e-visa) if they hold a valid resident card issued by GCC member states, which includes the UAE.
The new visa rules are aimed at promoting cultural exchange, tourism, and fostering stronger connections between the two nations, according to Armenia’s tourism body. Boghossian highlighted the popularity of the destination, particularly among UAE travelers. Armenia’s strategic location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, along with its short direct flight (approximately three hours) and affordability, make it an attractive choice for those seeking a convenient getaway.
Armenia offers a wide range of activities, such as ziplining, water rafting, paragliding, and winter sports, providing a well-rounded experience for visitors. The country’s visa facilitation, proximity, affordability, rich culture, delicious cuisine, and beautiful landscapes make it a popular destination for UAE travelers looking for a unique and unexplored location.
Many UAE travelers also explore regions beyond the capital city of Armenia. The country’s picturesque winter landscapes and various snow-related activities further enhance its appeal, ensuring year-round tourism. Additionally, Armenia’s affordability and diverse tourism offerings align well with the desire of UAE visitors to experience new and exciting activities.
Armenia is home to hidden gems like a grape spa in the Ararat Valley that offers grape-based treatments. Scenic getaways, such as Lake Sevan and the stunning peaks of the Armenian highlands, attract nature lovers. The country’s rich cultural heritage, including ancient monasteries, churches, and historical sites, adds to its allure.
Armenia’s efforts to simplify visa regulations for UAE visitors demonstrate its commitment to attracting more tourists and fostering closer ties with the UAE. With its unique offerings and accessibility, Armenia is increasingly becoming a sought-after destination for UAE travelers.
