Apple raises price on streaming services: Is it worth it?

Consumers are feeling the pinch of rising prices all around, and the latest bump has struck the streaming sector. Apple recently announced another price hike to its Apple One subscription service, raising concerns among users about the value of the services they receive.

Apple TV Plus, Apple’s streaming platform, has been the subject of this price increase. Just last year, the service raised prices by $2, and now the subscription will jump another $3, bringing the monthly cost to $9.99 and £8.99.

The Apple One Premier tier includes Apple TV Plus, among other services such as iCloud, Apple Music, and Apple News. When bundled together, the Premier tier offers a hefty discount for those who use multiple Apple services.

But many consumers are rethinking the value they’re receiving in light of the price hike. Notably, Apple users who utilize the Apple One services are evaluating which ones they use most frequently and considering alternatives.

After being notified of the upcoming price increase, one user reassessed their usage of Apple services, noting that they rarely used anything beyond the storage and Apple TV Plus. As a result, they made the decision to unsubscribe from other services, effectively cutting down costs.

While consumers appreciate the variety of services offered under Apple One, they’re increasingly looking for more flexibility in their subscriptions. For frequent bingers, this means unsubscribing and resubscribing to services as new content becomes available.

While the price increase has raised concerns among some users, the mastery of services such as iCloud and entertainment through Apple TV Plus remain engaging to many. However, with prices on the rise and competition increasing in the streaming market, consumers are being selective about which services they intend to keep.
