Monthly Instalments Now Available for Apple’s New MacBook Pro and iMac Computers
Apple has announced the release of new MacBook Pro and iMac computers, along with three new chips to power them. The company claims to have redesigned its graphics processing units (GPU), which have traditionally been dominated by Nvidia.
During an online event focused on professional users, Apple unveiled the new computers and introduced the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips. These new products aim to cater to the needs of professional users.
In the UAE, pre-orders for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops, as well as the new iMac desktop with the M3 family of chips, are now available. The devices will be available for purchase on November 7. The price of the 14-inch laptops starts at Dh6,899 and goes up to Dh13,539, depending on storage, chip, and other specifications. The 16-inch models range from Dh10,499 to Dh16,799.
The new iMac desktop with the M3 family of chips starts at Dh5,499 and goes up to Dh7,179. Apple’s website also mentions the availability of monthly instalments.
Aside from introducing new products, Apple has made changes to its overall lineup of computers. It appears that the company has eliminated the cheaper 13-inch model of the MacBook Pro.
Since parting ways with Intel and introducing its own custom-designed chips, Apple’s Mac business has seen a revitalization. The company has nearly doubled its market share to almost 11% since 2020, according to preliminary data from IDC.
To cater to the needs of business users, Apple showcased a new secure screen sharing feature that allows remote access to machines.
Apple’s custom chips, which utilize Arm Holdings’ design technology, have provided Macs with better battery life and improved performance compared to machines using Windows operating systems from Microsoft.
Unlike other laptop manufacturers that typically combine Intel CPUs with Nvidia GPUs, Apple has integrated both parts in its Apple silicon chips. The company claims that this integration results in better performance compared to its competitors.
Apple’s success in the market has prompted Qualcomm to develop Arm-based chips for Windows, as well as Nvidia’s plans to enter the PC market by 2025.
During the event, Apple executives highlighted the performance improvements of the new MacBooks and iMac machines compared to older Apple machines with Intel chips. They emphasized the noticeable speed difference when upgrading to devices with Apple’s own chips.
Overall, the new MacBook Pro and iMac computers, along with the accompanying chips, demonstrate Apple’s commitment to delivering high-performance devices for professional users.
