Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy, emphasized that the UAE is currently experiencing a momentum in all sectors of the economy. He highlighted the directives of the country’s leaders, including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice-President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to position the UAE as a global economic destination that connects various regions of the world.

With the conclusion of Gitex Global 2023, the UAE has further strengthened its position as a top destination for global companies and institutions. The country also hosts numerous major economic events throughout the year. Gitex Global, in its 43rd edition, brought together thousands of exhibitors, tech executives, and government entities from around the world. The exhibition serves as a platform for technology companies, decision-makers, and startups to showcase their latest developments and innovations.

The UAE is also proud to host other international gatherings such as the UNCTAD World Investment Forum, green economy events within COP28, the Dubai Air Show, Arab Health Medical Expo, and the Global Future Councils. Minister Bin Touq highlighted the significant contribution of these economic events to various sectors of the UAE’s economy. He also noted that the country’s GDP for 2022 exceeded estimates and achieved positive growth rates. Additionally, the UAE attracted the highest foreign direct investment inflows in its history, making it the 16th global destination for FDI attraction.
